Nick Evans ![]() Mr Evans first started training in April 1997 at the age of 17 and was one of the first students to attend the Royal Wootton Bassett school and is the sole remaining student from the original group of 1994. With a background in weightlifting and the fitness industry he has a vast knowledge of health and fitness including sports injuries. Mr Evans started Taekwondo wanting to channel his strength into something more dynamic. Mr Skidmore ran the Royal Wootton Bassett school as the senior instructor from 1997 whilst the school was being overseen by Master Ogborne and classes being taken by Mr Evans and Mr Jack Noel. Since that time the school has increased its membership by 400-500% making it one of the most successful schools in the Swindon area. Nick became a 1st Degree black belt in 1998. In April 2000 he gained his 2nd degree black belt and in April 2003 successfully became a 3rd degree black belt and is now currently a 4th Degree black belt. Nick has remained loyal to Mr Skidmore and the school for over 11 years and is his most senior instructor. His expertise lies in his technical ability and particularly enjoys patterns and the art of its spectacular kicks. His tournaments successes include a Silver and a Bronze medal in his red belt days. Nick believes Taekwondo is a great way to keep fit and develop self discipline, with the biggest reward of seeing a students progress both physically and mentally through teaching. "The level of respect, courtesy and integrity displayed by the students and the family/club atmosphere we have at Royal Wootton Bassett is great and makes the club as strong as it is." Nicks most memorable achievement was passing his 3rd Degree Black Belt with P.U.M.A. as well as receiving the DES TKD Student of the year award for loyalty and services to Wootton Bassett Taekwondo and Mr Skidmore. |
